How to ask my Dad for Makeup for Christmas?

My parents are divorced, he’s been overseas in the military, so he doesn’t see me much. I’m currently up at my Dad’s house for 2 weeks for Christmas break. I’m 13, and I wear makeup, and I think he knows that. He still thinks of me as his little girl, he still calls me Princess! I just don’t know how to ask him, he keeps asking for what I want. So, How should I ask him?

First, I can almost guarantee you that dad won’t be giving you make up for Christmas if you’re 13. And, whether or not you like it, at 13, you still are more of a little girl than an adult. If anyone is going to get you make up, it will be your mother. Even then, they won’t let you go around with a full face of make up on. My niece, who just turned 14, just used mascara and a bit of gloss, usually clear. You don’t need more than that at your age.

Second, you don’t want a man, especially your father, buying you make up. They will buy, more often than not, what they want you to wear and not what suits you or looks good or what you want. You need to go, with a friend, to a department store and ask for a makeover to teach you how to wear it properly. Stay away from that black eyeliner all around your eyes that make them smaller and makes you look….well, you know. Dark brown is better and only go have way in on the bottom to keep your eyes open and natural.

It’s best to ask him if you can wear a some mascara (brown is less harsh there, too) or some lip gloss and then ask him for money to get it.
